LMC suspends FC Taraba official for rest of seasonThe League Management Company (LMC) has suspended Fada Dennis, the welfare officer of FC Taraba for the remaining games of the season. Dennis was suspended for assaulting referee Bala Mohammed in Makurdi after the Match Day 14 fixture against Shooting Stars. The LMC also charged FC Taraba with failure to provide adequate security during the match which allowed unauthorised persons to gain access to restricted area and which led to the attack on the referee. The sanctions on the club include playing one home game behind closed doors, a fine of N500, 000 and payment of N250, 000 compensation to Mohammed. Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) was fined N500, 000 for not providing proper security which led to lead to the assault on Enyimba International coach, Khadiri Ikhana on Match Day 13. Enyimba International got a caution for fans unruly conduct after the Match Day 16 fixture against Abia Warriors at the Enyimba International Stadium. Coach Ikhana was fined N100, 000 for failing to act in ethical and professional manner during the Match Day 16 fixture against Abia Warriors. He was charged with “going beyond his technical area and unto the pitch in the bid to confront match officials” before being restrained by security officials. Those affected can accept the decisions or state in writing, within 48 hours, the option of appearing before a commission.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
