FC Taraba and Nasarawa United will complete their disrupted Match Day 35 fixture on November 4, at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja, where they will continue from the 81st minute while the Jolly Nyame Stadium has been banned for one year from hosting any Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) matches. Taraba State government has inaugurated a Committee to enthrone a new Emir of Zing, following the death of the late Emir, Alhaji Abbas Ibrahim Sambo, who died in Mecca recently. The late Emir was one of the hundreds of Nigerians who died during the stampede that occurred in Saudi Arabia, while observing the yearly hajj. The Four-man committee to be chaired by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau For Local Government and Chieftaincy Affiars, Bello Yero, has the Chief of Staff, Rebo Usman as members. Flood has rendered over 15000 families homeless in six local government areas of Taraba State, Permanent Secretary, State Emergency management Agency (SEMA)Mr. Nuvalga Danhubu, said. He told Daily Trust in Jalingo that the flood was as a result of heavy rainfall and water released from the dam in Cameroun.  Danhubu said apart from residential buildings, several farmlands were also destroyed by the flood in Kari-Lamido, Gassol,Lau,Ibbi  ,Ardo-Kola,and Wukari Local Government Areas. He said both the State Emergency Management Agency and the National Emergency management Agency (NEMA) have embarked on sensitization campaign and alerted communities residing by the river bank to relocate. He noted that relocation of communities from flood prone areas has reduced the level of damage caused by the disaster. Head coach of FC Taraba, Ndubuisi Nduka, has insisted that his team will continue to fight for their survival, in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPF). The Executive Director, Victims Support Fund, Prof.  Sunday Ochoche has donated the sum of 25 million to the Specialists Hospital Jalingo  and  General Hospital Wukari in Taraba state to provide free medical care to victims of insurgency in the state. Ochoche said while presenting the cheques to the management of the two hospitals  in Jalingo and Wakari yesterday that the funds donated should used for purpose it  was provided. The National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jalingo has nullified the election of former acting Governor of Taraba State, Alhaji Sani Abubakar Danladi as a senator representing Taraba North senatorial district. Danladi, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was dragged to the tribunal by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ali Sani Kona, on the grounds that the March 28 senatorial election in the district was marred by irregularities in 54 polling units in three local government areas of Karim Lamido, Zing and Yorro. Ali Sani, though his counsel,  Festus Idepefo, urged the tribunal to declare the election inconclusive in the 54 polling units and order a fresh election to determine the actual winner of the election. Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, one of the ministerial nominees told Senators when she was being screened on Wednesday that her nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari as a minister was a ploy to get her to withdraw her petition against the result of Taraba 2015 governorship election. A Jalingo high court has on Friday sentenced two persons to death by hanging for allegedly robbing the cashiers of education authority of Zing and that of Ardo-Kola local government areas of the state. The convicts are Okochukwu Ifalacho, aged, 33 from Obaro local government area of Anambra State and Ezekiel Ukach, aged 30 from Plateau State. Delivering his judgement, the presiding judge, Justice Ali Andenyangtso, said the convicts were accused of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery under Section 6 “b” of the robbery and fire arms special provision Acts 2014. “The two convicts robbed the cashiers of Zing and that of Ardo- Kola local government areas of the state in 2013 during the payment of staff salaries. “The two accused persons did not produce any witness and also pleaded not guilty to the offense but the prosecuting counsel had called about fifteen witnesses to testify and all their evidences were taking by the court,” Andenyangtso said.
