The Students Representative Council (SRC) of Taraba State University, Jalingo, has raised concerns over the shortage and unavailability of adequate lecture halls at the institution, saying the situation could affect the smooth conduct of academic activities. In a memorandum dated August 12, 2026, and signed by the SRC Chairman, Comr. Yohanna Emmanuel, the students’ body disclosed that it recently held an urgent meeting with the university management to address the challenge. According to the SRC, management has agreed to implement immediate measures while long-term plans to construct new and modern lecture facilities are being pursued. Under the interim arrangement, the SRC said lecture halls would be regarded as university property rather than facilities belonging exclusively to particular faculties or departments.
