PDP Chairman donates a block of three class rooms to a community

Ardo-Kola - Victor Bala, Chairman of the Taraba State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , on Thursday donated a block of three-classroom at Bakin Dutse in Ardo Kola Area Council of the state. Bala said he spent N10 million on the construction of the facility, which Governor Darius Ishaku inaugurated. According to Bala, the amount covered equiping the facility, which was donated to Bakin Dutse Primary School. Addressing the Bakin Dutse community, Ishaku urged them to protect government facilities within their locality. He said his administration was determined to provide more developmental projects to the rural areas. "Give me peace and I will give you development," he said. Abduction: Police Nab Man Trying To Sell 3-Year-Old Girl

The Taraba State Police Command has arrested a 51-year-old man for allegedly kidnapping a three-year-old girl. Briefing journalists yesterday in Jalingo, the acting commissioner of police in the state, Mr. Bello Ahmad said that the suspect, Dalibi Tanko, was arrested by a team of policemen at Mallam Abba ward, Mutun Buyi, while he was trying to sell the girl to one Uba Idris Shagarda of Jantaro village. “Though nobody knows where he took the little girl from, information only got to us that a man was looking for someone to buy a three-year-old girl from him,” he said. According to him, when the suspect was interrogated, he confessed he kidnapped the girl from one Mallam Babaji of Mallam Abba ward, Mutun-Biyu. The kidnaped girl was later identified as Maryam Babaji, a daughter to one Mallam Babaji. He added that as soon as investigation was concluded, the suspect would be charge to court. The Governor of Taraba state Arch. Darius Dickson Ishaku yesterday said that what killed Peoples Democratic Party PDP at the 2015 general election was arrogance and imposition of wrong candidates at the general elections. Police Recruitment: Beware of fraudsters, Taraba Police PRO warn Nigerians

The Police in Taraba on Wednesday said some fraudsters have started online police recruitment in the social media and have advised people not to become victims of the scam. The Police Public Relations Officer, in the State, DSP Joseph Kwaji, issued this warning in a statement released in Jalingo on Wednesday. The statement said the 10,000 police officers recruitment approved by President Muhammadu Buhari was yet to commence. “The command wishes to inform the public that the 10,000 police officers recruitment approved by President Buhari is yet to commence. “Modalities for the recruitment are being worked out by the Police Service Commission and would be announced in due course. “The public is hereby warned to beware of online fraudsters who may take advantage of the recruitment information to defraud them of their hard earned money,” it stated. Police Officer, 2 Others Killed Over Bribe At Checkpoint In Taraba

A policeman shot two persons to death because they  refused to bribe him at a checkpoint in Taraba . The two persons killed include a co-driver of a trailer full of cows and the man in charge of controlling the cows. The event occurred in Chediya village along Wukari- Benue highway on Sunday evening when the mobile police officer stopped the trailer driver at the checkpoint and requested the sum of N1000 bribe to allow him pass. A witness, Mallam Babba, told our reporter that the head driver begged the policeman to collect N500 instead of the usual N1000 because he had exhausted his money at other checkpoints. According to the witness, the police officer refused to collect the N500 saying the trailer driver was disrespecting him. The driver then exited the trailer to appeal further. Invest In Basic Education, TETFund Boss Tells Taraba Governor ‎

The executive secretary of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Prof Suleiman Bogoro, has advised the Taraba State governor, Darius Ishaku to invest more in basic education. Bogoro, who gave the advice when Ishaku paid him a courtesy visit over the weekend in Abuja, said Taraba was one of the most active states in terms of TETFund intervention projects. According to him, TETFund has not neglected any of the tertiary institutions in Taraba. “We will be happy that courtesy of our intervention in tertiary education, you will be able to save money for basic education – primary and secondary. “There are larger numbers of beneficiaries at that level; if you succeed in doing this, we would have seen ourselves as veritable partners in the rescue train in Taraba.’’ Earlier, Ishaku thanked TETFund for its numerous interventions in tertiary institutions in Taraba as there were lots of TETFund projects in Taraba. JAMB To Commence Sale Of 2016 UTME Forms On Aug. 31

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says arrangement has been concluded for the sale of its 2016 application documents. This is contained in a statement by the board’s Head of Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos. According to the statement, the sales is to prepare candidates early for the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It said that candidates were urged to purchase the examination scratch cards from Zenith Bank, Sky Bank and First Bank . ”The registration fee for the UTME is N5,000 and candidates are also to pay N500 to obtain the textbook, The Last Days at Forcados High School’. ”Candidates will, however, be issued the book at the point of registration after showing evidence of payment,” the statement said.
