The former executive secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) Mr. Nuvalga Dan Abuh stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP in his office.
He noted that the state government has donated several trucks of relief materials comprising of food, non-food items and medical supplies to the displaced persons.
“Governor Ishaku Darius has also approved the sum of N1.4 million for the IDPs, the money would be used to purchase more items for them,” he said.
He stressed that over 10 displaced persons have taken refuge in some places of worship in the state.
He added that the National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) had after each crisis and natural disaster sent several relief items to the state to provide succour for the IDPs.
It would be recalled that Wukari, Ibi, Donga, Gassol, Karm-Lamido LGAs of the state have witnessed several religious crises since last year.
till day, resulting in destruction of lives and property.
For fear of losing their lives, residents in the affected areas have deserted their homes to take refuge in camps and worship places in the council headquarters of the state.
