Taraba State Government Releases Identity Of Rescued Children

Image result for humman traffuckingTaraba - Following the rescuing of 17 children from a suspected child trafficker in Taraba state, parents whose children are missing have been encouraged to contact government to identify the minors.
Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku called the parents to Jalingo, the state capital, where they must contact the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development for the verification of the children.
The call comes after the state police command on Tuesday rescued the abducted children and arrested the suspect.
“Describing children are special gift from God who deserve special care and love from the society devoid of any form of abuse or illegal separation from their immediate families as seen in the case of those innocent children.  The government will stand firm in fighting this unwholesome abuse of child right in the state,” a spokesperson of the governor said.
He also admonished parents and the public to be more  vigilant and report any suspicious activities involving children or groups of children in transit to the public.
CAJ established that seven out of the seventeen children are females whose ages ranged between four and eight years.

The detail of children are Daniel Bello (9 years) and Masiru Nekan ( 9)

Others are Shagari Danjuma (8) Musa Yakubu (8), Rabo Edem (8), Sunday Adamu (8), Dicson Tishi (7), Ma Idi (6), Oliver Jimmy (6), Abednego Allahaji (6)  Yahaya Bitrus (6) and Blessing Lucky (6).
Also among the rescued children are Vilter Stephen (5) ), Blessing John (5), Obadiah Sabo (5) , Farida Danladi (5) and Makambe Lowmb (4).
The children are presently in custody of the state government and would be well taken care of pending when their parents and guardian come around to take them.
Meanwhile, the State Public Relation Officer, Joseph Kwaji, said the suspect would soon be charged in court  as soon as the police finish investigations.
“The Commissioner of police is very much interested in the case as he has ordered the immediate transfer of the rescued children and the suspect to Jalingo, the state capital,” said Kwaji.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
