How Garba UTC saved N30bn for Taraba State

Fresh facts have emerged on how former Taraba State acting governor, Alhaji Garba Umar UTC saved over N30 billion by constructing three federal roads within two years of his administration.


Garba UTC decisions to embark on the road projects in 'raining days' is currently providing a great relief for the state whose currently owing salaries and pension arrears.



Federal government will eventually refund N28 to N30 billion to the Taraba State government for the construction of the federal roads under former acting governor UTC.



President Buhari speaking at a meeting with members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said the Federal Government will strive to make more funds available to the states by expediting action on refunds due to them for the maintenance of federal roads and other expenses incurred on behalf of the Federal Government.



A Federal government verification team had certify and commended the contractor for a perfect job, while the State Government under Dairus Ishaku had put in a claim of between N28 and N30 Billion.




These roads are: Jalingo- Sunkani - Garba Chede Road a 72 kilometre Stretch @ N12. 4billion, Marraba - Baisa Road @ N7. 2 billion and Bali - Sarti - Gembu a 237 kilometre Road @ N17 billion now@ 80 % completion and N11. 9 Billion paid to contractors.



These are not the only projects currently been flaunted by the present administration, recently governor Ishaku 'recommissioned' the rural electrification project constructed by Alhaji UTC in Bali Local Government.



Also many electrical poles and other materials are been refurbished and repainted by the current administration. Garba Umar UTC was only governor of our dear state for two years.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
