All Progressive Congress, APC, chairman in Taraba State, Alhaji Ardo
Jika, has said the deputy governor of the state, Haruna Manu, whose
company carried out civil servants biometrics exercise in the state is being paid a whopping N16.9m monthly as consultancy fee.
Ardo who spoke in a telephone interview with National Mirror from
Abuja said the PDP government in the state gave the contract to Haruna
Manu long before he became the deputy governor to enable them make money
to prosecute the 2015 governorship campaign in the state. “It is
laughable that today the governor is again doing staff verification.
If he is probing staff leakages, he should also probe his deputy
whose company carried out staff biometrics in the state and is being
paid millions monthly.
“He should again probe his SSG, Anthony Jellason, his Chief of Staff,
Rebo Usman, who were indicted in the N400 million flood disaster fund
in 2012.
“Everybody in Taraba knows they were indicted by the State House of
Assembly. It is surprising that people who were indicted and have not
exonerated themselves are now in his kitchen cabinet; he is only
victimising people employed by Garba Umar in the name of staff
verification,” he said.
Ardo maintained that the governor used 100 days in office to sack
people employed by Garba Umar and reversed transfer of service of staff
of local government to state carried out by his predecessor Sani Danladi
when the state is grossly lacking manpower.”
He lamented that there was nothing to celebrate after 100 days in
office of Governor Ishaku as he only used past governments achievements
in the state.
