A family is a fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children. This group of people on their own can make decisions on how the home can be managed
including a number of children to have in the family. That is family planning.

Family planning services are the ability of individuals and couples to anticipate and attain their desired number of children and the spacing and timing of their births. It is achieved through the use of contraceptive methods and the
treatment of in vulnerable infertility.

These issues are influenced by external factors such as marital situation, career considerations, financial position, and any disabilities that may affect their ability to have children and raise.

Methods of contraceptive include oral contraceptive pills, implants, patches,
virginal rings, intra uterine devices, condoms, male and female sterilization among others. These methods have different mechanism of action and effectiveness in preventing unintended pregnancy. The use of contraceptive prevents pregnancy related risks for women, especially adolescent girls and when births are separated by less than two years, the infant mortality rate is 45% higher than it is when births
are neither four nor more years apart. The WHO revealed. Family planning offers a range of potential non-health benefits that encompasses expanded education opportunities and empowerment for women, and sustainable population growth and economic development for Tarabans. This information is gathered at the just concluded 3-day Media advocacy workshop organized by The Change Initiative TCI and facilitated by the DevCom in Jalingo Taraba State

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
