Winners Emerge in Taraba NYSC Mini-Sports Festival

This year's Taraba National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Mini-Sports Festival ended recently with the entertaining football finals won 4-3 by Platoon 10 in the penalty shoot-out against Platoon 4 after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

While the winners took home the prestigious trophy donated by former NFF president, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, the runners-up went home with the trophy donated by the present scribe of the NFF, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi.

Donor of the Gold Cup, Lulu expressed satisfaction with the performance of the two finalists as he said some of them would go on to represent the country in football, if they keep working hard.

He said "Nigeria will always appreciate your positive contributions and selfless service to the nation.

"I am confident that some of you will in future represent this nation in football, if you continue to improve on your performance."

The State Coordinator, Mr. Emmanuel Attah thanked the donor of the giant trophy and expressed satisfaction with the quality of play from both teams.

"From what I have seen today, the Taraba state NYSC will surely have a formidable team that opponents will find hard to beat in future competitions," he said.

In other events, Platoon 7 won the volley ball trophy donated by Achor Enebi, the Head of International department in the NFF just as Platoon 1 came first in 100m male with Platoon 2 taking the first place in 100m female.

Taraba State University Joins ASUU Ultimatum to 21 Universities Over 2025 Agreement

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
