Taraba ALGON boss flags off free medical care

The chairman Taraba state chapter of All Local Government Of Nigeria (ALGON) and chairman care taker committee Kurmi local government area of Taraba state Mr Steven Ibrahim Agya has flaged off free medical care for the people of Kurmi local government area tagged “Agya Free Med-Care”

The flaging off of the free medical care took place at Government Model Health Center Baisa the headquarters of Kurmi local government area.
While presenting his speech at the flag off ceremony, the caretaker chair and sponsor of the free Medicare Mr. Agya said the dream to offer free medical care to the people was a five year old ambition which he intend to actualized when he contested for the chairmanship of the local government in 2011.
Agya said the people of the area who were supposed to be the richest among others in the state remained the poorest due to lack of good health.
He stated that the area was blessed with abundant Agricultural resources which needed the energy of the citizens.
Agya said since the Kurmi area was far away from other towns in the state, it became impossible for the people to access medical care in better hospitals.
He further narrated that his intension was to create better health among the people and inturn bring initiatives that can make them resourceful.
“From registration to cutting of card and treatment is going to be free, nobody should ask any of you to pay Kobo, all that is to be used including the drugs have already being paid for”
“The doctors are qualified doctors from various fields, the hospital has been well equipped for this program and the treatment of people of Kurmi, both adults and children, we are going to do it continuously until the health within our communities becomes better”
“There is a saying that health is wealth, I want to make sure you are wealthy but I will make sure you are healthy first” Agya stated.
The head of the team of doctors who are involved in the free medical care Dr. Danga. I Danga told Vanguard that the treatment includes Malaria, testing of HIV, surgery on Hynea, and other related diseases.
He also confirmed that all the required drugs and facilities for surgery were made available by the sponsor of the program.
Dr. Danga also said his team of doctors were targeting treatment of people between the rang of four to five hundred in two weeks.
