Overland To Boost Economic Activities In Taraba


First Commercial Flight in Jalingo
Overland Airways has said that the commencement of flight services to Jalingo, the Taraba State capital is part of efforts to provide uninterrupted flights in opening up smaller airports and the local economy.
Chief Operating Officer of Overland Airways, Mrs. Aanu Benson disclosed that the airline operates a current fleet of nine modern turboprop aircraft  adapted to its short-distance operations.
According to her: “Overland Airways is an outstanding economic development partner and catalyst in Nigeria creating value for remote cities and communities. Our cardinal objective is to fast-track national development especially at the hinterland level, and we have a deep sense of fulfilment each time we connect another potential economic powerhouse like Jalingo to the main economic hubs.

She said that Overland Airways was the first-ever airline to launch flights to Jalingo airport, thus opening the state to unprecedented economic development in tourism, agribusiness, small and medium scale industries among others.
This feat, she stated was one of several characteristics that single out Overland Airways as an unmatched partner in economic empowerment and development especially in hinterland regions in Nigeria.

Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State expressed delight at the launch of flights to Jalingo which provides a strong boost to economic development efforts in Taraba State.

    A welcome development, as this will surely reduce the risk involved in road traffic accidents, especially in some volatile areas where hoodlums blocked roads for hours causing untold hardship to commuters. Well done Overland.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
