Supreme Court Ends Prof. Yayha Dream Of Becoming Taraba APC Guber Candidate




The Supreme Court has ended the desire of Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahya to replace His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Abubakar Danladi as the APC Candidate if the eligibility suit filed by Sani Danladi before the Supreme Court will be resolved against him.

Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahya in an appeal filed against Usman Udi and Others at the Supreme Court is asking the Court to Joint him in the substantive suit and so that he can make a counter claim in the appeal filed by His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Sani Abubakar Danladi challenging his disqualification by the Federal High Court on the eve of the March 9, 2019 Gubernatorial Election.

When confronted by the five-man Justices of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Mary Odili on whether or not Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahaya is challenging the Primary Election of his party or he is wrongfully substituted as the candidate of his party. Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahya through his Learned Counsel Pius Damba subjected himself to ridiculousness and fumbled before the Court for lacking in fact to substantiate his claim.


The Court after querying Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahya on the competency of his appeal through the record of proceedings referred him to on pages 995-961 and page 1018 by the Court, his Learned Counsel admitted to the fact that their appeal is incompetent and has no merit having been filed out of time, 61 days beyond the maximum time required of them by law to do so.

Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahya having admitted to have failed woefully to institute a valid appeal has therefore, applied to withdraw his appeal and was struck out accordingly in a unanimous ruling of the Apex Court.

Consequent upon the eligibility suit filed by Usman Udi and Three Others at the Federal High Court, Jalingo, challenging the Taraba State APC Gubernatorial Candidate, His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Sani Abubakar Danladi on the ground of presenting contradictory dates of birth as contained on INEC Form CF001, Prof. Muhammed Sani Yahya in a desperate move to joint the suit and replace His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Sani Abubakar Danladi as the candidate of the APC in Taraba State, has applied to join the suit at the trial Court but was not successful, proceeded to Court of Appeal Yola, Division and was unsuccessful as well, went to Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal Holden at Abuja and failed too, and now, the Supreme Court of Nigeria has hit the final nail in his coffin.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers.
