FG to open Kashimbila project by December

The Federal Government has said the 40 megawatts Hydro Power Plant from Kashimbila dam in Taraba State will be ready for opening by December and will contribute to power generation in the country.
The Minister of State for Power, Mr Godwin Jedy-Agba, stated this on Thursday at a Presidential dinner of the alumni of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Jos, Plateau State.
The minister noted that the Mambilla project was also near opening “in a few weeks from now.”
Jedy-Agba said, “We will appreciate your contributions towards developing strategic and meaningful policies for us in the power sub-sector of our economy. There is no gainsaying that power translates to every aspect of our life. The government will appreciate your contributions towards moving the power sector forward.
“The Mambilla project which has been on for 40 years is taking off on jet speed in a few weeks from now. In the same vein, the Kashimbila Project which is about the same size of Mambilla will be inaugurated in December by the grace of God

“By the time we inaugurate these two projects, I assure you that it the power situation in Nigeria will improve.”

Taraba State University Joins ASUU Ultimatum to 21 Universities Over 2025 Agreement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University (TSU) chapter, has joined 20 other state-owned universities placed on a 14-day ultimatum over the alleged non-implementation of key provisions of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement. Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
