357 drug suspects arrested in Taraba

357 suspects including 14 females were arrested and prosecuted by the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency in Taraba State within the last one year.

The commander of the agency in the state, Mr. Ishaku Kwajafa , disclosed this in an interview in Jalingo.

He said out of the number arrested for drugs trafficking, 58 were convicted to various jail terms.

Mr Kwajafa disclosed that, the agency, during the period under review, seized 2692.1kg of illicit drugs.

He said the illicit drugs comprised of 2,215.8kg, psychotropic substances (tramol and diaspam) and 476.3kg of cannibis sativa (Indian hemp).

He also disclosed that the agency has carried out anti-drug abuse campaigns across the state to sensitize the public on the dangers of drug abuse and trafficking.

Kefas Bans Livestock Rearing in Residential Areas of Jalingo, Imposes ₦50,000 Fine

The Taraba State Government has banned the rearing of animals in residential areas and other parts of Jalingo, the state capital, as part of efforts to tackle environmental nuisance, safeguard public health, and maintain a cleaner and more orderly city. The government also warned that anyone found violating the directive will face an immediate fine of ₦50,000.
