The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has challenged Governor Agbu Kefas to identify a project worth ₦10 billion executed by his administration, declaring that he would quit the governorship race if the governor could present one.
Bwacha, who spoke in an interview with ARISE TV, said his decision to contest the 2027 governorship election was driven by concerns over the direction of governance in Taraba State. According to him, he would have had no reason to challenge Kefas if the governor were performing his responsibilities effectively.
The former senator also expressed concern over the state government's proposed new loan, insisting that the funds must be properly utilised for development projects rather than allegedly disappearing like previous borrowings. He argued that the performance of individuals, rather than political parties, should determine the direction of government, adding that his decision to run was informed by his belief that Taraba had moved from “frying pan to fire.”
