TSEMA Begins Relief Efforts for Sardauna Crisis Victims

The Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA) has begun relief and recovery efforts for households affected by the recent communal crisis in Gerouje and Mbara communities of Mbamga Ward, Sardauna LGA.

The agency has completed profiling affected households to assess their losses and create an accurate database for targeted humanitarian assistance. The exercise, led by Mr Genesis Munjah in collaboration with Local Emergency Management Committees, is expected to guide subsequent relief and recovery interventions for residents affected by the violence.

Jukun militia kills five Tiv farmers, injures woman in fresh attack

In Spite of interventions by stakeholders to broker peace between the Tiv and Jukun in Benue and Taraba states, five persons have been killed in fresh attacks on Gyenku in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State. The Guardian learnt that the Jukun attacked farms to kill the victims.Confirming the incidence, Caretaker Chairman of Ukum Council, Tor-Tyokaa Iberlogo said five persons were killed on their farms, while a woman was seriously injured and is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
