Gov Ishaku’s Aide Decries State Of Mambilla Plateau Road

The senior special adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba State on Political Affiars, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, has lamented the deplorable state of federal road linking Mambilla Plateau in Sardauna local government area of Taraba State to Jalingo the state capital.

He said the road has become a death trap to hundreds of motorists who ply the road on daily basis.

Bawa, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP expressed worried that the condition of the road has become an embracement to the federal government.

He added that motorists and heavy trucks fall on daily basis on the road.

“One thing that kept surprising me is that, recently, President Muhammed Buhari announced that a huge sum was earmarked for the construction of the Hydro Power Project, they know fully well that the road is bad, and they have heavy equipment that would be sent through the road to the project site.

He stressed that the bad road has claimed the lives of innocent motorists who ply the road and also caused untold hardship to residents and businesses on the Mambilla.

According to him, the bad situation of the road has become a source of frustration to the people of the Mambilla.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
