The Taraba State Government has formally taken over 188 housing units constructed under President Muhammadu Buhari administration (under Federal Government’s National Housing Programme.)
Housing Minister Dr. Muttaqha Rabe Darma said the handover is part of a nationwide effort to ensure completed federal housing projects are occupied and allocated to citizens, including civil servants and security personnel.
Governor Agbu Kefas commended the Federal Government for the quality of the houses, noting that the units are urgently needed to accommodate personnel following the approval of additional military divisions with headquarters in Jalingo.
Kefas also requested more federal housing projects for Taraba, assuring the Federal Government that the state has sufficient land for expansion.
The formal transfer documents were signed by Governor Kefas and the Housing Minister, making the state responsible for the allocation and occupation of the 188 houses.
