GEMBU, TARABA STATE — The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA), Dr. Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed, has inspected the Gembu Earth Dam and the Gembu Hydromet Project Office in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The two projects were awarded by the Authority as part of efforts to strengthen water resources management, improve weather data collection, expand irrigation farming and promote sustainable rural development in the Mambilla region.
During the inspection, Dr. Mohammed assessed the progress of work on the projects and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to ensuring quality delivery, timely completion and effective utilisation of the facilities for the benefit of host communities.
He said the revival and completion of the Gembu Earth Dam and Hydromet Office would contribute significantly to agricultural development in the region, particularly by improving irrigation opportunities, supporting livestock farmers and strengthening flood and climate monitoring.
According to him, the projects align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reflect UBRBDA’s commitment to delivering infrastructure capable of improving livelihoods and supporting economic development across its area of operation.
The inspection underscores the Authority’s renewed focus on completing critical water and agricultural infrastructure while ensuring that communities derive maximum benefit from government investments.
UBRBDA reiterated its commitment to sustainable water resources development and the delivery of impactful infrastructure across its area of operation.
