CORONAVIRUS: Taraba State Government close all schools

Governor Darius Ishaku has directed Public,Private and tertiary institutions in the State to be closed on or before twenty fourth of March twenty twenty as a result of the Corona virus pandemic.

The Governor stated this during a State wide broadcast to people of the State in Jalingo.

He said leadership of various institutions must ensure that they make proper arrangements to that effect to ensure compliance.

Governor Ishaku disclosed that henceforth no assembly of twenty people are allowed at a particular time starting from the twenty first of March twenty twenty.

The Governor urged Tarabans to be wary of the type of market they attend including bars,restaurant and video centers which must close before seven o'clock in the evening.

He called on religious organization not to misconstrue the genuine effort of his administration to curtail the spread of Corona virus to the state.

Governor Ishaku charged security operatives to ensure strict compliance of the order.

The Governor encouraged religious leaders,opinion leaders,Non governmental Association to sensitize the people on the need to respect the executive order.

Governor Darius Ishaku expressed the love shown to him by people of the state on his arrival and thanked Tarabans for their continues prayers which amply shows that they have him in mind.

He promised to redoubled efforts to completing ongoing projects and initiate new ones for the benefit of the people.

Taraba State University Joins ASUU Ultimatum to 21 Universities Over 2025 Agreement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University (TSU) chapter, has joined 20 other state-owned universities placed on a 14-day ultimatum over the alleged non-implementation of key provisions of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement. Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
