Police Invade Kidnappers’ Den, Kill 5 In Taraba



A team of Police operatives yesterday stormed a den of kidnappers at Takalafia, in Bali local government area of Taraba state and kill five suspected kidnappers.

The police operatives, aided by some villagers also rescued a kidnapped victim during the operation.

The caretaker chairman of Bali local government council, Prince Musa Mahmood confirmed the killing of the five kidnappers when contacted.

Mahmood said the five kidnappers two days ago kidnapped one rich man at Takalafia village and the villagers gang up with the police and went into search of their brother, (the kidnapped victim).

“The villagers went out in a combine operation with the police, the man that was kidnapped escaped from the kidnappers den, they were trailing him while the villagers and the police were also trailing them, (the kidnappers) the villagers in conjunction with the police ran into the kidnappers, five of kidnappers after exchange of gun fire were killed.

“It has been our initiatives which I have been encouraging the youths, the traditional rulers and the religious leaders to always come together to face any insecurity challenge in their mist.


“The kidnappers have been sterilizing the area, we can now see that together we can handle the bad eggs that are coursing sleepless nights in our communities.

When contacted, the police public relation officer Taraba state command, David Misar said he has not gotten details of the incident as at the time of the call.

Misar told our correspondent that he was already on his way to Bali, “I Have no details but on my way to Bali will get back to you soon.”
