Gov Ishaku Promises Reforms In Taraba Health Sector


The executive sectary, Taraba State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Aminu Jauro Hassan, has disclosed that Governor Darius Ishaku has expressed readiness to effect some major reforms that would transform the health sector to meet world-class standard in the state.
Jauro, who stated this yesterday in Jalingo during an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP Weekend, said since Governor Ishaku resumed office, his administration has employed good numbers of community health workers to meet to health needs of those living in hard to reach places.
He stressed that the governor has been so passionate about health, stressing that he  has done so much in trying to ensure that they is high impact of integrated health service delivery in Taraba State.
He added that he has given the agency the go ahead to sign an MoU with the federal ministry of health, the federal ministry of finance and World Bank, to try to come out with a concept that would elevate the health sector in the state.
He informed that Taraba State Government has given the agency an express approval to collaborate with UNICEF and the Canadian government to come up with what is called the ‘Hard To Reach Project,’ to deliver free health to the most difficult areas in the state.

He explained that the agency, UNICEF and the Canadian government, have identified over 600 communities in dire need of health care delivery.
He noted that the administration of Governor Ishaku also provided $200 billion to sign an MoU with the federal ministry of health, federal ministry of finance and the World Bank to carter for the health need of the people of the state.
He commended governor Ishaku for prompt release of funds to support the campaign against the eradication of polio in the state.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
