Senate President Names Senate Committees; Find Out what He Gave Taraba Senators

The Senate President, on Wednesday, announced the composition of 65 standing committees of the upper house (Senate). 

Mr. Saraki increased the number of the committees from 57 which his predecessor, David Mark, had.
While senators of the All Progressives Congress got the chairmanship of 41 committees, those of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party got 24. 

Mr. Saraki had earlier named chairmen of some special committees, namely – Selection, statutorily chaired by the senate president himself; Rules and Business, Senate Services, Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions and Public Accounts.

1.Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha (Taraba South) Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Water Resources. 

2. Sen.Sani Abubakar Danladi (Taraba North) Chairman Senate Committee on Cooperation & Integration in Africa & NEPAD.

3.  Sen. Basir Marafa as Chairman Senate Committee on National Identity & National Population

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
