TY Danjuma to Tarabians: Stop these killings

Former Defence Minister, retired General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, has called on the people of Taraba State to stop the killings going on in the state and rather embrace the acquisition of knowledge to be able to attract rapid development to the state.

Danjuma made the call during the public presentation of Jukun Language Curriculum and the presentation of service award to some illustrious Nigerians held in Wukari, Taraba State.

“I want to call on all of you to stop these incessant killing of your brothers and sisters and embrace knowledge to foster development in your community.

“The world today is knowledge-driven, but you will all agree with me that knowledge cannot strive in the face of killings and destructions to property,” he said.

Represented by a former Minister of Water Resources, Obadiah Ando, Danjuma challenged the sons and daughters of the state to assist the newly established Federal University, Wukari, to enable it attract development to the state.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
