DPR approves installation of 5 LPG plants in Taraba

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Taraba state has approved the installation of five Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) plants in the state.

Mr Jeremiah Mashat, Operations Controller, Jalingo Field Office, stated this while speaking to newsmen Tuesday in Jalingo.

Mashat said the plants would be sited in Jalingo metropolis and Wukari local government area.

He said the approvals were given to Action Energy, Sky Wave Energy and Bondiya Energy to install the plants in in Jalingo, while Sozo Gas and Capado Energy would install in Wukari.

Mashat said all the aforementioned gas plant operators had met the necessary requirements before been issued with license by the department.

He urged gas operators in the state to regularise their businesses with the DPR and ensure their legitimacy.

He also urged operators to relocate to safety areas “as the department would not hesitate to sanction any violator.’’

The DPR boss warned operators to desist from re-cycling expired cylinders as such act posed grave danger to households.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
