ORIENTATION PROGRAMME: VC TASKS FRESH STUDENTS TO BE FOCUSED ON THEIR ACADEMIC PURSUIT.




The Vice Chancellor of Taraba state University Jalingo, Professor Vincent Ado Tenebe has challenged the newly admittedly students who resumed for 2019/2020 academic session of the university to pursue excellence with passion and to remain focused on their academic pursuit in order to achieve greatness and fulfilment in life.

Professor Tenebe who was speaking at the 2020 resumption orientation program organized for newly admitted students of the university, he noted with excitement that this is not the first set of students he is receiving as Vice Chancellor, he charged them to make him proud.

The Vice Chancellor observed that since his resumption in 2017, he has engaged in various tour of the university facilities and is convinced that Taraba state University Jalingo is indeed the hub of academic revolution. He went further to assure the students of the commitment of the University management team, heads of units and all staff to their comfort and welfare throughout their stay in campus. He described the University management team who also were in attendance at the orientation program as the compass the students need to navigate the university environment. He therefore encourage the students to feel free at all times to approach any of the officials of the university for guidiance and assistance.

Earlier, Professor Tenebe had commended the University management team and staff members who were involved in the resumption and allocation of hostel rooms to the newly admitted students.



The Vice Chancellor had visited the male and female hostels severally to ascertain the level of preparedness of the university to admit and allocate students into various rooms. He advised the newly admitted students to be watchful and shun anti social activities, that they are the hope of their parents and communities, and they are looking up to them, that they should be mindful of their stay in the university and to do everything possible not to bring shame to their communities and parents.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
