The newly appointed minister of power, Engr. Sale Mamman, has said he needs the prayers and goodwill of Nigerians to succeed in his mandate, especially with regards to the problems being experienced in the sector.

He stated this Wednesday in Abuja during the inauguration reception organised by his committee of friends at NAF Conference Centre.

He said: "What I need from Nigerians at this time is prayers. I have just been appointed minister of power, so I have nothing much to talk about or say than for Nigerians to pray for me to succeed."

Also speaking, member representing Jalingo Yorro Zing constituency in the House of Representatives and a member of the committee of friends to the minister, Hon. Bello Kashimu Maigari, said he has no doubt that the new minister of power will deliver on his mandate.

"Taraba people are especially very happy for this appointment of one of own as minister of power. He is a seasoned politician and has the capacity to deliver on his mandate, especially with regards to the Mambilla power project. All he needs is our support, because there are a lot of issues bedevilling the power sector," he said.

In his goodwill message, the chairman of All Progressives Congress in Taraba state, Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Suddi, charged the minister to brace up for the challenges he us bound to encounter in the power sector, even as he said that the minister has always proven himself in times of challenges.

He said: "The minister is a unifying factor to all the people from Taraba state. We should forget what happened in the past during elections and unite; in order to move Taraba and Nigeria forward. We also need the support of the Taraba state government for our son to succeed in this new challenge. We don't have any excuse to fail as a people, especially with regards to the problems in the power sector."

Taraba State University Joins ASUU Ultimatum to 21 Universities Over 2025 Agreement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University (TSU) chapter, has joined 20 other state-owned universities placed on a 14-day ultimatum over the alleged non-implementation of key provisions of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement. Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
