Chief of Army Staff Visits Governor Ishaku

Chief of Army staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai of the Nigerian army today visited Governor Darius Ishaku at the Government house Jalingo.

H.E Arch. Ishaku said his administration has always sought after the collaborative efforts of the Nigerian army towards the maintenance of peace.

He stated that he still hopes for a well equipped Nigerian Police force in other not to stretch the Nigerian Army who are tasked with the responsibility of protecting the territorial integrity of the nation.

Governor Ishaku assured General Buratai of his full support in all of their assignments and the continuous welfare of his soldiers in the state with the efforts made on the on-going renovation work at the twenty model barracks Serti Baruwa, Gashaka Local Government Area.

Earlier, General Buratai expressed his concord to joining forces with other security agencies in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens. He said his visit would be extended to Gembu, Sardauna Local Government Area for a recon mission for the deployment of soldiers in order to checkmate the influx of unwanted individuals.

The General also showed his excitement on the upgrading of the Serti barracks to a model barracks with the introduction of the mobile banking system by first bank of Nigeria and soon to all other units in the state.

A symbolic crest and plaque was presented to Governor Darius Ishaku Dickson Ishaku by the Chief of Army staff.

Taraba State University Joins ASUU Ultimatum to 21 Universities Over 2025 Agreement

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Taraba State University (TSU) chapter, has joined 20 other state-owned universities placed on a 14-day ultimatum over the alleged non-implementation of key provisions of the 2025 Federal Government-ASUU agreement. Truck Drivers Block Jalingo–Zing–Yola Road Following Dispute at NDLEA Checkpoint

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
