REVEALED: Why The Green “Cucumber” House Collapsed.


Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku pet economy project popularly known as cucumber farm has collapsed.

An insider said staff have been laid off and the Israeli born conshultant has not even been paid his 2018 December salary. The insider who spoke with KWARARAFA REPORTERS on conditions of annonimity said strident administrative structure and a laid back management style is responsible for the collapse of the once burgeoning business.

The source noted that many Taraba people never liked the idea in the first place. He said, “truth is that the Green House was not such a hit with our people.

Cucumber wasn’t the most important vegetables with them either. So when this came, there was mixed feeling. The government expended close to three billion naira- an amount many believe was even too much. The money would have assisted local farmers if it was well used. It was a disaster.” He pointed further that although the Green House was supposed to be part of Taraba Vegetables, a subsidiary of the Taraba Investment Company, the place operated solely on its own. “It ran like a private company,” the source noted, adding that “while Taraba Investment Company bears the brunt of loses, the Green House took all profits. So essentially, the state wasn’t making any serious profit. As we speak now, only few of the cabins there are producing any kind of cucumber. Market is at an all time low.

Workers have been laid off. From close to a hundred workers, you now have just five or so people working there. The place has been depleted and a total shut down is being contemplated. The governor himself is said to hate any reference to the place but still carries the name “baba cucumber”! The place is dried and it’s safe to say it has collapsed.” KR checks show that the opposition might used this as one of its campaign rhetoric in the coming days.
