APC governorship candidate decries spate of underdevelopment in Taraba



Alhaji Sani Danladi, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba, says the state has yet to experience meaningful development since it was created in 1991.
Danladi said this on Thursday while receiving no fewer than 4,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and United Democratic Party (UDP) to the APC in Gassol Local Government Area of the state.
He said that Taraba was richly endowed with abundant human and material resources waiting to be harnessed for the overall development of the state.
He said that the state had huge potential in tourism, water resources, tea and coffee growing and animal husbandry.
Danladi, who is a former deputy and acting governor of Taraba, said that he had the experience and political will to transform the state. He welcomed the new members and assured them of equal recognition with older members of the party.
He urged the electorate to vote massively for the APC candidates in all the elections in the state.
Earlier, the spokesman of the defectors, Alhaji Njidda Maigari, said they decided to move to APC because “we have seen light at the end of the tunnel.” Maigari promised that they would work hard for APC’s victory at all levels during the general elections. (NAN)

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
