Mambilla hydropower ‘ll boost employment – Nguroje

The Chairman of the board of Nigeria Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Hon. Babangida Nguroje, has said efforts by the federal government to actualise the 3050 megawatts (MW) Mambilla hydropower project in Taraba state would create employment and also improve the tourism sector.
The former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives who said this in Abuja yesterday noted that his commission has perfected plans to provide support to all tourism organisations foreign and local to live their full potentials.
He said the approval by the Federal Executive Council of the sum of N812m for demarcation of the specific area of land to be affected by the Mambilla Hydro Power Project. He said the power sector remains the bedrock of every nation that strives to create employment and right atmosphere for businesses.
“For us at the NIPC, we are looking forward to take advantage of this massive project to further boost foreign and local investments, because we believe that power is a key to every economy. I must commend President Muhammadu Buhari and the Federal Executive Council for once more approving funds that would be used for the demarcation of the land and clearly I must state that we are on the right tracks.
