Gov. Ishaku Appeals for Sustainable Peace in Bang Community

Governor Darius Ishaku has charged the people of Bang community in Sardauna Local Government Area to sustain the relative peace in their comunity.



He gave the charge while being presented with a traditional title by the bang people on the Mambilla Plateau as Defender of the Bang people.
The colourful ceremony which took place during the annual new year cultural festival of the village was held at Bang on the Mambilla Plateau.
The Governor stated that the choice of celebrating the New Year in Sardauna LGA was designed to celebrate the peace that had returned to the area. He urged them to see each other as one considering their long history together.
The Governor promised to initiate more life touching programs for the people in his second term and solicited their support in forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Abel Peter Diah in his remarks assured Governor Ishaku of their full support to ensure his victory at the polls.

Similarly, President of Bang Cultural Development Association, Eric Juyo thanked Governor Darius Ishaku for creating a chiefdom for them and also for renovating the library at the Government Day Secondary School, Bang.
Juyo enumerated the challenges of the area to include lack of healthcare centers, roads, water, communication barrier and others.
High point of the festival was the bestowal of the title of Defender of the Bang people on Governor Ishaku, his Deputy Haruna Manu for his support to Governor Ishaku on peace and the presentation of a traditional symbol to
the Speaker, Abel Peter Diah for his role in mobilization of the Mambila people.

The people also presented the wife of the Governor, Anna Ishaku with a wrapper of the Bang Community Development Association in recognition of her developmental initiatives in many hard to reach communities in the State.
