Taraba 8th Assembly Passed 24 Bills – Speaker

JALINGO – The eighth Taraba State House of Assembly passed 24 bills; it also passed several resolutions.

This was disclosed during a, induction/orientation workshop for members-elect, which ended on Wednesday in Jalingo.

According to speaker of the House, Abel Diah, “Despite the daunting challenges we faced during the period under review, ranging from communal clashes, insurgencies, Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Bill and the kidnapping of our dear colleague, Barr Hosea Ibi, which eventually led to his untimely death, this House rose against these challenges to pass 24 bills, which were assented into laws and several resolutions”.

Diah, while opening the workshop, stated that the essence of the retreat was to expose members-elect to the modus operandi of legislative activities.

While advising the members-elect, the speaker said, “The secret of a successful legislature is dialogue with one another and with other arms of government”.

Tinubu approve reconstruction of Numan-Jalingo, Mutum Biyu–Garba Chede, Mayo Selbe–Gembu roads

By Taraba Facts President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval for the completion of the long-abandoned Jalingo–Numan Road, rehabilitation of the Mutum Biyu–Garba Chede Road and construction of the Mayo Selbe–Gembu Road has been welcomed as a major development for Taraba State. Kefas Bans Livestock Rearing in Residential Areas of Jalingo, Imposes ₦50,000 Fine

The Taraba State Government has banned the rearing of animals in residential areas and other parts of Jalingo, the state capital, as part of efforts to tackle environmental nuisance, safeguard public health, and maintain a cleaner and more orderly city. The government also warned that anyone found violating the directive will face an immediate fine of ₦50,000. Chairman of the Taraba State Environmental Sanitation Agency (TSESA), Mr. Iliya Kefas, announced the ban during the state's monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Jalingo.
