Covid-19: We’ve shared N20m to Christians, Muslims in Taraba – CAN, Muslim Council


The governor of Taraba state, Darius Dickson Ishaku is said to have given 20 million Naira to Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Muslim Council Taraba state chapters.
According to officials of the two religious groups as reported by Taraba Truth and Facts, governor Ishaku gave them 20 million Naira, 10 million Naira to each of the religious groups to go round the 16 Local government areas in the state to sensitize and also provide palliative measures to their respective members.
The money according to them have been used judiciously as directed by the governor as they officials of the group from both religion claimed to have went round the 16 LGA and sensitized their members as well as they have provided palliative measures to the people.
However, some clerics from CAN and Muslim Council claimed that they are not aware the governor gave such amount of money to them because the leaders of the group didn’t inform them about it.
They further alleged that there was not sensitization by the officials of the two groups and no palliative measures had taken place as claimed by those who received the money.
Others said the money was simply shared between the top officials of CAN and Muslim Councilor

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
