AIG meets Adamawa, Taraba, Gombe CPs over insecurity

The new Assistant Inspector General of Police in Zone 3, Haliru Gwandu, has met with the police commands in Adamawa, Taraba and Gombe states, which make up the zone.
The meeting, it was gathered, was meant to fine-tune strategies towards tackling kidnapping, banditry and other crimes in the zone.
Gwandu resumed duties in January, replacing AIG Mshelia Huzi, who retired from the force.
In the maiden meeting with the CPs under his zone, Gwandu said tough times awaited criminals in the three North-East states.
He said, “Criminals and their cohorts have no hiding place in this zone, they either repent or face the wrath of the law.”
He also assured residents they had nothing to worry about because he would ensure residents felt safe in their homes.
He thanked Audu Madaki, Bello Makwashi and Ahmed Azare, the police commissioners of Adamawa, Gombe and Taraba states respectively, for their efforts at ensuring that criminals had no hiding place in their states.
Gwandu said, “I wanted to also use this maiden meeting to thank them for what they have doing since I came here to rid the three states of crime.”
