Unknown gunmen abduct 5 people in Taraba state



A report by the News Agency of Nigeria indicates that unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted five persons in Gassol local government area of Taraba state.


According to the report, the incident occurred between Sabongida to WuroJam in Gassol local government area of Taraba state on Wednesday, January 1. An eye witness quoted in the report, Musa Sabongida, said the victims were abducted at a bush while returning from a neighbouring town around 5 pm. Governor Ishaku and the security agencies in Taraba have to step their game to stop rampaging criminals in the state



 He gave the names of the victims as Hambali Haladu, Abdu Ibrahim, Buhari Abdu, Gidado Mallam Manu and Thomas Ernan.



Already, negotiation has started between the abductors and families of the victims. When contacted, the police spokesperson in the state, DSP David Misal said the report of abduction of the five persons has not reached his office.



Meanwhile, members of a vigilante group recently killed four gunmen suspected to be kidnappers close to the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.



During the exchange of gunshots, four among them were gunned down, while three others were apprehended on the spot as they attempted to escape into the bush. Seven AK 47 rifles were also recovered from the kidnappers alongside their motorcycles. Read
