4000 Police Force Deployed As INEC Get Set For Elections In Taraba




Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Taraba state office have confirm that all is set to conduct the Saturday’s presidential / national assembly elections in the state. This was disclose to LEADERSHIP Newspaper by the director of information INEC Taraba state office Mr. Febian Yame. Febian while speaking with LEADERSHIP NEWSPAPER on phone said all the required materials for the Saturday’s election process have been deployed to the various areas and the commission is ready for commencement of the exercise tomorrow (Saturday). He said both the sensitive and Non sensitive materials for the election were deployed alongside the ad-hoc staff of the commission who were trained to conduct the process and the security were all deployed at the same time to guide and protect both the materials and the staff for credible election tomorrow. “As we speak, no election material is left with us here in the office, they have been taken to the areas which they will be used for tomorrow’s election. We are sure of the security of the materials and as early as 8: am tomorrow, we will kick start the process across the sixteen local government areas of the state at the same time.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Force Taraba State Command said over 4000 Police force have been deployed across the state to monitor the presidential / national assembly polls. Speaking with Leadership Newspaper, the police public relation officer Taraba state command David Misar disclose that the state command have deployed 4000 police while other senior Police officers were earlier deployed by the police national headquarters to the state to ensure a hitch free polls on Saturday. Misar also stated that the command have identified all the strategic areas in the state and have made adequate Police Man power at the areas to give INEC the peaceful atmosphere to conduct a credible elections in the state.

Check in Wukari, Gasol, Ardo-Kola and Jalingo local government areas of Taraba state gathered that the electorate were anxiously waiting in a calm mood to cast their votes in a peaceful manner tomorrow. Those who spoke to our Correspondent at the various places call on INEC to ensure that their votes counts, majority of the electorate also call on the federal government to advice the security to remain professional during and after the elections.

Taraba Begins ₦5,000 Deduction for Teachers’ Permanent Identity Cards

The Taraba State Universal Basic Education Board (TSUBEB) has initiated a ₦5,000 deduction from teachers as part of arrangements for the production of Permanent Identity Cards for teachers across the state. According to UBEC, the identity cards are expected to strengthen staff records, improve security and enhance administrative efficiency in the management of teachers across Taraba State. UBEC further said the Permanent Identity Card project is also expected to assist the state government in developing an accurate and verifiable database of teachers. Such a database will provide Governor Agbu Kefas with reliable information on personnel within the basic education system and support more effective planning, monitoring and personnel management. The initiative is therefore expected to strengthen security measures, improve staff verification and provide a more efficient system for managing personnel across Taraba State’s basic education sector.
