Tiv/Jukun Crises: Benue, Taraba States Compose Peace Committee



The Benue and Taraba State governments have set-up a committee following the violence in Tiv/Jukun communities, Concise News reports.
This online news mediumunderstands that the 10-man committee is part of efforts at restoring peace in the communities in the Benue and Taraba State borders.
The Benue State acting governor, Benson Abounu, inaugurated the committee alongside the Taraba State deputy governor, Haruna Manu at the Federal University at Wukari.
Abounu urged them to be fair and do their job by revealing the causes and solutions to the problems.
The committee will tour all affected areas to sensitise the people on the need for peaceful co-existence and to also determine the extent of damage done.
